Sony Ericsson K850i Cell Phone

K850i is one of the new phones announced by Sony Ericsson yesterday. Being a Cyber-Shot handset, K850i obviously comes with impressive photography capabilities (5MP, auto focus, Xenon flash) and digital photo editing (Photo Fix that automatically improves light balance in one click, PictBridge, etc). Added to the mix is the new camera user interface that intuitive enough to scroll between functions. Still about the camera, with a single push of a button, its lens cover will automatically retract and upon switching to camera mode, the phone keypads will have an illuminated icons which indicate the camera control buttons.
I own K800i cell phone, and like mine, K850i’s multimedia functions are pretty standard. However, it does come with a brand new media browser which hopefully will improve our media experience. Personally, I vote SE’s media browser over Nokia’s.

One of the most admirable feature is the built-in HSDPA (3.5G) support which provides up to 3.6MBps download rate. Eventhough I live in an area that doesn’t have 3.5G coverage yet, but if I ever decide to replace my K800i, I’d definitely looking forward for a phone with HSDPA connectivity.

Other features include a large 2.2-inch display, auto-rotate screen orientation, picture/video blogging, and quad-band GPRS/EDGE network. Sony Ericsson K850i cell phone will be released in early Q4 2007 in two different flavours, Velvet Blue or Luminous Green.
